teklabel goes solar!

Milpitas, CA — December 26, 2017 — Teklabel announced the successful installation and start-up of its new 131.24 kW DC solar array, enabling the company to power 80% of their energy needs. The solar PV system consists of 386 high-efficiency solar panels designed to produce 184,260 kilowatt hours annually and will offset 137 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

Teklabel operates a 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Milpitas and maintains a sales office in Petaluma serving a broad account base in Sonoma County and a wide variety of industries throughout North America.

“This installation was a prudent business decision and an environmentally conscious one as well,” said Jim DiBona, President and co-owner at Teklabel. “It is an investment which enables us to do the right thing for the environment.”

Positive Customer Impact
Many customers that produce sustainable products are also looking toward sustainable packaging options. This means these manufacturers are taking a closer look at prospective business partners. Teklabel sees a growing demand for “green” label options, such as recycled stocks and water-based inks. “Being solar-powered helps us meet the demands of this customer base,” said DiBona.
